{"id":796,"date":"2025-10-20T15:00:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T15:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idpin.cnc.uc.pt\/?p=796"},"modified":"2025-10-27T16:24:24","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T16:24:24","slug":"workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/idpin.cnc.uc.pt\/?p=796","title":{"rendered":"DYNA Brain\u00a0&amp; Nencki OpenLab\u00a0workshop: &#8220;From Keypoints to Behavior: Pose Estimation and Behavior Analysis&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"796\" class=\"elementor elementor-796\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-31326e0 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"31326e0\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-135fed5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"135fed5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>From Keypoints to Behavior \u2013 A Successful Workshop in Behavioral Analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Between October 14 to 17, <a href=\"https:\/\/dynabrain.cnc.uc.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DYNA Brain<\/a>, in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/nenckiopenlab.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nencki OpenLab<\/a>, successfully hosted the hands-on workshop \u201c<strong>From Keypoints to Behavior: Pose Estimation and Behavior Analysis<\/strong>\u201d, part of the idpIN Doctoral Program training portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>This workshop took place at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, University of Coimbra (CNC-UC) in Cantanhede, Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of four intensive days, participants learned how to transform raw video data into meaningful behavioral insights using two leading open-source tools in neuroscience research: DeepLabCut and Keypoint-MoSeq.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop combined theory and practice, guiding participants step by step through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Navigating the DeepLabCut workflow (both GUI and code)<\/li>\n<li>Annotating and training models for high-quality tracking<\/li>\n<li>Managing multi-animal datasets and preprocessing pipelines<\/li>\n<li>Applying Keypoint-MoSeq to identify and interpret behavioral motifs and patterns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The workshop gathered 13 young researchers, including PhD students, postdocs, and early-career scientists from institutions around the world, all eager to enhance their skills in cutting-edge computational behavioral analysis.
